New Ford Patent
According to Drive.com, Ford has applied to patent self-repossessing cars that can drive themselves away when payments are missed. I guess I won't be trading the 48 in on a new one.

Re: New Ford Patent
That's better than Tesla's repossession policy, where they steer themselves into concrete road dividers.

Re: New Ford Patent
I did see that, reminds me of when Ford cancelled the rights of the high performance Mustangs Track key. Bought for paid for, should have went to court. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htGdWLAxT5E So they can use it for finance but not for thieves?

Yeah, there is no way hackers will not break into that and use it to steal cars (sarcasm)

Re: New Ford Patent
When the cloud goes down is the car going to drive it's self to the corral as a default mode?

Re: New Ford Patent
With the new “green “ solar/wind power grid it will need the support of batteries when the wind is too fast or slow for the windmills and the sun is hiding behind clouds or night, then the electric cars will be called to the bi- directional chargers and Lock in for grid support— remember driving is a privilege

Re: New Ford Patent
Why would the manufacturer be repo-ing the cars? That's the bank's problem, not Fords

Re: New Ford Patent
For years one of the most profitable divisions of Ford Motor Co was Ford Motor Credit. Between the interest on consumer loans and the floorplan interest charged on dealer inventory. During my time as a small town Ford dealer I saw the financial statement of one of the largest dealers in the Midwest. They barely made any money on a new vehicle, but the finance department was a huge profit center. I recall Mel Farr did something similar when financing "credit challenged" folks and ended up in all kinds of lawsuits over it. Perhaps another case of it depends on who you are?
