Default for what it's worth.............. rad problems?

Harbor Freight just sent me a coupon for a 5. buck infrared heat gun....

think you have to spend 50. bucks to get it for that, but anyone with radiator overheating issues may be interested.

I know their stuff is sometimes junk-just throwing it out there.............!

I have one of those guns, and it is not only useful for radiator monitoring, but also to check brake drum heat right after a hard long stop to see if all brakes are equal. You can also check the radiators in your house, and see if your cat is up to temperature.

Got this same email. Seems like some deals if your looking at a bigger ticket item (must spend 49.99 or more THEN you get said item for $5)

I have had one for years and it works very well, paid 20 something for it with a coupon. Five dollars is a great price for it. A friend is in the HVAC business and we compared his expensive one to the HF one, difference was within a degree on a number of tests.

and yes many items at HF are not very good , but some are. Their torque wrench for $9.95 with the coupon is one such tool, it is within 1% accuracy of both my SO & craftsman wrenches. A major car mag. did a test of many brands and HF wrench was up there with the best. I have one in every vehicle to tighten lug nuts. As all torque wrenches you need to return the setting to zero after use to maintain accuracy.

I just bought the heat gun with a coupon from one of their ads. $19.95. Seems to work good and confirmed that my rad is transferring heat top to bottom fine.
