front plate dumb question
Hi All,
I am want to hang a tour plate on the front bar and have a dumb question. How do you do it? The plate has two holes where the bolt goes through but if I do that then I can't clamp it to the bar. Do the clamps just clamp to the plate or does the bolt go through the plate? Mike

Re: front plate dumb question
I have an old pair of clamps that are shaped in a way that the bolt can not go through the plate. The plate hangs below the bar, and the ridge around the edge of the plate clamps between the two halves of the clamp. The two halves are not identical. It's not a good system, and tends to break out a chunk on the edge of the plate. If that is what you have, look for another set of clamps.
Even if I could find my old set of clamps, I'm not smart enough to post pictures. W. Michael |

Re: front plate dumb question
That’s it. I figured it out. Knew it was a brain fart.

Re: front plate dumb question
In this jurisdiction, we are exempt from running a front plate on these cars but if we had to, I think I'd just zip tie it to the front bumper or at the most, make a mount for that location. I don't like the idea of putting it on the headlight bar.

Re: front plate dumb question
Here is my solution. This was made for my Model "A" street rod years ago.
