That's a Canadian pre-ww2 flathead 24 stud, probably has the military extra oil pressure port on the bell housing. Similar to the US 59A ,but always there are the Military bearing surprises. Newc

Information; they have real thick cylinder walls.
They displace 239 cu inches, run a two hole per journal crank, with shell bearing con rods. These are NOT the same as 8BA version. Those shell bearings are impossible to find nowadays, however, regular 239 floaters can be substituted. Originally, the valve rotator valve setup was fitted, and only exhaust valves had hardened seats.
