Re: Ragtops
Old convertibles are great, on the right days or the time of day. It is no fun sitting in the hot sun moving or not when the temperature gets in the high 80's or 90's. I get so much engine heat in the cabin that I swelter on hot days. The leatherette upholstery doesn't help.
But there isn't anything like an early morning or late evening ride in a convertible with the cool air and the dual Smitty's playing that flathead V-8 music. Ahhh! Congrats, hope you enjoy your new ragtop...

Re: Ragtops
I'm with you Shadetree, down here in Florida, in the summer, I keep the tops up on our rag tops during the day but in the cooler months the tops stay down almost all the time.

Re: Ragtops
It was a one eye, off and on search, but as of now I can say I have "seen" two 52 Merc drop tops and have owned them both.. This one is a lot nicer than the one I had back in the 60's, which I abused and sent to it's eternal resting place.
I pledge to do better with this one. FWIW the 52 Merc ragtop is probably more rare than your favorite 30's car.. Per one owner there are only 49 registered in the US, and probably half of those have been rodded. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=...ht_1962wt_1165 |
