Default How to mount 1955 side kick panels

Working to install front seat side cowl kick panels from an upholstery kit in our 1955 Crown Victoria.
Can anyone tell me how yours are secured in place in your ‘55-‘56 Ford?
I see no clips other than for holding the wind lace.
I see no screw holes in the side under the left and right cowl kick panel areas that would seem to work.
I don’t have any original panels to look at.

If you have some time, visit my website. Here is a good blog post I wrote (with photos, etc) concerning the installation of the kick panels on my 1955 Ford Club Sedan.

Each side has a slim piece of sheet metal (I call it J channel because of its shape) that attaches to the body with clips. The rear of the kick panel board slides into a groove/channel on that piece of thin metal.

Thank you. Helps a bunch. My car came in pieces and buckets and I don’t have the J channels. I will either have to locate some or else think a bit outside the box.
