Did you mean to say "Baking Soda" ?

It is advisable to wear protective gloves and a mask, as washing soda may irritate the eyes and skin. It can also be toxic when inhaled. Take the necessary precautions while using washing soda. Mixed with water it forms an acidic electrolyte solution.

I have an old pool pump I can connect to the radiator outlet to back flush with.
I use a can of draino which is lye. 20-30 minutes. Back flush and watch all the crap come out. Repeat for really clogged radiators. Wear skin protection and goggles. Water neutralizes it if you get any on your skin.

No neutralizer needed for Oxalic Acid. This stuff is completely natural...plants make it, and its in fertilizer. Put it on your tomatoes, they will love it.

I use OA to remove rust from car parts too. I have seen an entire rusty vintage bike get dumped in a kiddy pool of OA solution. A couple of days later, out came a bike with its original paint and chrome intact and in good shape! I was sold at that point.

T.S.P. did an excellent job removing greasy/oily scum, from Minervas' system.

well I tried a product like simple green and it got alot of globular grease out of it. Looked in it and could still see some plugged, dis the draino thing and that freed up id say 80% of my issues. Still left a slimey coating on everything. Might try some actual simple green as I like the way it performs. Does wonders of removing cosmoline. No extra holes so far!

I used CLR as listed earlier. You have to remove the radiator and let it work its magic overnight, but I got great results.
