LED headlights and DIRECTION
I want to convert my model A to LED headlights. However, everything I read and see tells me that LED bulbs should be installed horizontally, that is with the LED elements facing left and right.
The Model A Ford reflector requires them to be installed vertically and that makes for a weird light pattern and also when you focus the bulbs your are not focusing horizontally. Anybody else come up with a solution to this or am I just being stupid? Tks |

Re: LED headlights and DIRECTION
Have you seen Paul Shinn's video? He seems to cover them pretty thoroughly.

Re: LED headlights and DIRECTION
My LED’s replaced the original bulbs horizontally with no issues. Either your reflectors are rotated 90* or the sockets are rotated in the reflectors. Lastly are your LED’s specified for a Model A.

I discovered this. One of my headlight reflators has 2 slits in it allowing for the placement of the bulb horizontally or vertically, but the other must be older it has only one slit and it allows only vertical installation of the led, it also does not allow me to rotate the socket retainer. I have ordered the new reflectors that are very bright and meanwhile I cut a slit in the retainer of that reflector and now both headlights are installed horizontally. Cheers |

Re: LED headlights and DIRECTION
I installed Logo lights in my '30 roadster exactly as Paul Shinn describes in his video. I also followed his direction on focusing and I am extremely happy. I can't recall but it seems like the bulb socket are keyed into the reflector so the "only" way the bulbs will mount is with the aluminum housing of the bulb horizontal, putting the LED's on the top and bottom.
