Valve cover pin hole oil leak

I just installed a full flow oil filter kit. On startup I noticed oil leaking below the filter. Thinking it was the filter I tightened up a little more. No help
Crawled under and here is what I found. I can get a piece of 0.040 safety wire about 1/4" up in the hole.
I Need to drive the Model A this weekend.
If I had a gasket I would just put the original valve cover back on.
Ideas on a temporay fix?
JB Weld?
Drill a small hole, thread it put a screw in it?
Other ideas?????

Use form-A-gasket and install the old one and order a gasket to come when they replace the faulty one.

I'd give it a dab of JB and let it dry overnight. Can easily be ground off with mini-grinder if you want to do something else later.

Clean it with brake clean, and JB weld overnight. You can determine your options from there, after your trip.

Don't play with it if you are going to return it as faulty.

I am definitely going to return it as faulty. I’ll be on the phone with the supplier when he gets to work in the morning. He also will have the email and pictures I sent him this evening.
Two weeks ago I got new rusty shift rods from a different supplier. This is getting discouraging.

The vendor contacted me at 7:30 this morning, apologized for the problem and is sending me a new cover FedEx.

You might want to name the vendor for their excellent customer service.

If the parts don't get in in time cut a piece of cotton fabric and saturate it with silicone. Can be automotive or for general use. Clean the area well with brake cleaner, apply the patch and let it cure overnight. When you remove the valve cover you can wire brush the patch off for the return trip to Snyder's.

New cover due Thursday so I’ve got all day Friday for a two hour job since the oil supply tube is already installed.

The pin hole leaking oil is connected to the center hole which is the filtered oil outlet into the valve chamber. I can’t see up into that cavity but applying air to the pin hole it exits out the filtered oil outlet.

On a side note I know there has been controversy over the anti-drain back valve’s required opening pressure to allow oil to flow into the filter. I put a Ford FL1A and a NAPA 21515 filter on the valve cover and blew thru the oil inlet tube. It took virtually no pressure to open the anti-drain back flappers on either filter.
