If you look in the album in my profile you can see the Hexagon I bought a few years ago, with the air cleaner.

Since no one has posted an actual picture to this thread yet, I'll post this from the H.A.M.B. Notice that the carbs are mounted backwards, which I understand is a feature of these intakes.

Correct about the carbs being mounted backwards. They were originally built to be one of several choices of intake styles that were used on the Miller front wheel drive Indy cars that had their engines mounted backwards in order to mate to the front wheel drive transaxle set up.

When used in a FWD Miller, the carbs were actually facing the correct way.

The one with D shaped carb bases denotes it being an original one. The intakes with the kind of triangle shaped carb bases were repopped sometime in the 50's.

That single barrel air cleaner is not one of the original designs. Neat though...

Actually both designs D shape and blended in carb flanges we're produced with a casting or pattern date of 47. The D shape is of the design more like the ones from 35 but doesn't mean it is from then for sure.

The Hexagon intake is an excellent choice the mid riser height works extremally. The additional bonus of the carbs being rotated plus set so the generator mounts in the stock location make this one of the better choices for a dual carb intake. Many engines I have been part off run the Hexagon intakes their owners always have a smile on their face since the power output is excellent and the economy is not bad as well.
