Default '35 door top weatherstrip installation

Tried to install the door top weatherstrip on my '35 3W yesterday. I lubed the strip and channel with straight dish soap; but was only able to get it pulled in
about a 1/3 of the way before it stopped. I also tried sticking the outer edge in and then tucking the inner edge in; but that does not work.

The channel is smooth and clean as well as straight.

What is the secret to getting the strip installed in the channel?

The rubber strip is from Bob Drake.

Hi rich b . I recently did this to my 3 window. It sure is tough to put in. I tried the soap first, no luck. I then tried WD40 or Inox and kept spraying under the rubber as it was going into the channel.
I had my good wife pushing the rubber while I was spraying and pulling ,making sure it was going in properly.
It took a few goes and took some time, and my hands were aching after, but we got it done.
Good Luck
