Default What carb do I have??

I have searched the forum and still am not sure what I have. It has no markings other than the patent no's and an 8 49 on the flange. The outlet flange has a bore of 1.185". Can anyone help me on the type and manufacturer of this? Also, I am building a touring engine. What do I need to do to this carb or do I need to find a better one.

Thanks,

Jeff in BC has put out a great series of photos and technical information regarding these carbs. Just put Marvel carb into the search engine for this forum.

Thanks for the input. I have started reading all of the info that Jeff in BC has on the forum. Has anyone put this carb on an engine with the Synder hc head and the Stipes 330cam? Thanks

No HC head or hot cam, but the Marvel Schebler carb runs beautifully on my 29 Tudor (with a 36 diamond block engine)

According to the internet, the Marvel Carburetor was responsible for the development of Marvel Mystery Oil......

And where would we be without MMO?
