Default 1936 ford ring and pinion

Hi and Merry Christmas to all the great people here on the barn.I have been thinking about changing the gear ratio (ring and Pinion) on my 1936 ford.I currently have a diff code of 9 37 (4 11).Can someone explain the correct way to mate up the driveshaft (10 spline) to the pinion gear as all I see advertised are six spline pinion gears.I have seen the adapter sleeve but am hesitant to cut and weld the drive shaft not wanting to create a vibration. Thanks Ken

What I have in my avatar 32 is a 40 (6 spline, 3.54) rear end and cut down 34 torque tube. I took a hollow driveline (10 spline) and had a machine shop bore out the 10 spline part of the driveline and with a tight true fit, inserted a 6 spline coupler into the driveline and after adjusting for length by how far the coupler was inserted, welded it and checked for trueness. This was done in either 1998 or 1999. The car has over 6k miles on it and never any issues with any vibration. That is how I dealt with the 10 to 6 issue. Of course it all has to do with the accuracy of the machine shop that does the boring out of the 10 spline part. I also believe you can buy a new 10 spline 3.54 or 3.78 ring and pinion.

Mac’s has what you need, I’m sure other suppliers should have the same thing.

Looking at my original post, looks like the 10 spline was for earlier years. Sorry for the confusion.
