Default Duals in Stereo ??

Today we took the 39 out to do a final adjusment on the adjustable main jets I put on the 97 carb. I have an exhaust gas analyzer called a Carbuator. This has a tube that go's up the exhaust pipe with a hose from the tube to the instrument placed in the car with a short exhaust hose going out the window so the exhaust isn't discharged in the car. The hose is about 1/2" ID. I just shoved a peice of clear plastic tube 3' long on for the exhaust. I had my friend hold the Carbuator with the exhaust tube out the window, the input tube from the exhaust came up over the right rear fender by the rumble seat steps and in the window. We were going down the road and I kept hearing this slapping noise and Jim said it wasn't slapping. I said bring the end of the hose to the window. The noise was the perfect sound of the Smitty exhaust. It had the nice musical tone and the rapping back down when I let off the gas. You could put a tube in both pipes and have stereo music. I never heard the exhaust moveing down the road and was surprised to hear how good it sounded. Maybe 2 tubes hooked into a head set??? G.M.

Glad you are having a great time with your 39. I guess you are having great weather also. This winter been good this yeat also. Are you keeping Skip straight. When are you going to get Skip back on the 32 Pickup. Wish I was down there to play. Any new toys?

That sounds (no pun intended) like a plan. On another note (ok, this is getting bad) I have some questions about the Columbia I have for the '39 Zephyr that I'd like to talk to you about when you get a chance. Are you in Fl or PA now? Thanks, Vic
