An odd duck? Straight six "hogshead to "39 style open drive transmission.
This was on a 1948 F-1 pickup that seller had on C-list. He had listed the engine/trans. combo for sale as he is doing a Restomod project with the pickup. I offered to buy the open drive transmission only and was surprised he was willing to sell, turns out the engine was already sold to a guy for a Ford tractor project. He didn't need the adapter so I have it along with the transmission and driveshaft for the slip yoke. Just listed the adapter in the the swap section and was curious if these were readily available? Straight six to 78 series transmission case adapter, pressed steel not cast. Disregard the pressure plate in photo, was for transport, have the clutch as well. Thanks

Standard thing for the 6's, its about 3/4" deeper than a v/8, and of coarse the bolt pattern on the engine side is different

That is a stamped steel bellhousing, not a "hogs head".
