Default Dual carbs on an Offenhauser manifold

I plan to put an Offenhauser regular dual on an EAB 53 V8. Which carbs would you use, Holley 94s or Stromberg 97s ?

ole,
For what it is worth I lean to the Strombergs because everything is mechanical.
The vacuum power circuit on 94's can be challenging......not impossible for sure but
pretty much not an issue with Strombergs. I will STRESS if you go with 94's be sure
they are 94's not the bigger 1" or 1 1/16" variety and get your kits ,especially power
valves, from DAYTONA PARTS in Florida.
These are my opinions only and I certainly respect everyones opinion.

If you have a stock distributor, the strombergs will be a challenge Rich

Add dual manifold with either 94's with the loadamatic port, 94's without the port or 97's will be a challenge. A pretty impossible one if you want proper spark advance curve.
I know it's been done, and some folk claim it works, it just can't work properly, plain and simple. Maybe with enough time, patience, distributor machine that can add vacuum advance or a good dynomometer and operator and a huge selection of springs, you may get somewhere, somewhen.
Dual carbs on a loadamatic? Just not worth the agro and disappointment. Fit and ignition with centrifugal and preferably vacuum advance, correctly calibrated, you won't be sorry.
Martin.

Martin is right, dual carbs on an 8BA, just don't work right with the stock distributor. In fact the stock dist doesn't work very well with the right carb most of the time.

Ron: Thanks for your $.02. I agree with you and Martin. I was kinda waiting for someone to suggest a modified small block chev distributor as the answer for proper adjustable centrifugal advance and adjustable vacuum advance for economy. Works well with any number of carbs you can put on. In my opinion, the best source for these distributors is Bubba.
Just my opinion.,...jack
