Default 31 Deluxe spare tires

Was there ever an after market guard/cushion, if not, what do you do to keep your doors from hitting/rubbing against the spare tires mounted in the fenders when the doors are opened?

I think you can adjust the door catch on 30-31 closed cars so they don't hit. But that is a "I think" statement.

I'll have a closer look later this week but I noticed that a round piece of black foam cushion was stuck to the driver's side spare to keep the door from making contact. I'll have that look and get back with what I found.

Thanks................

As mentioned you should be able to adjust the door checks behind the kick panels to limit the swing

On my Town Sedan I have stoppers fixed to the door and guided by a rubber part inside the body. These stoppers allow an opening angle of all 4 doors of 90 degrees. This prevents from touching the tires.

I had hopes of taking possession by delivery this week and start going over her from front bumper to rear but that will have to be delayed until first part of next week. Too many commitments. Need to study and learn the ins and outs of her and the doors are on that list.
