Jackson MI swap meet
I was flipping through facebook the other night and saw something about the Jackson MI swapmeet in January. Does this swapmeet usually have a pretty decent turn out/ worth the trip?

Re: Jackson MI swap meet
I know a dummy living in Fort Dodge Iowa that saw the flyer for this swap meet 8 years ago. He got excited and drove 125 miles up to Jackson (MINNESOTA). He drove all over town but could not find the swap meet. When he returned home it dawned on him that MI meant Michigan!

Got up real early, drove 200 miles, and were the first people there. Turns out we were actually 50 weeks early for the next one. |

Re: Jackson MI swap meet
Well that's a great question.
In years past it was run by the VMCCA and was on Sunday. The local Early V8 club region had a table there. Hardly any flathead parts but a few tables of Model T and A parts. Small building maybe 3/4 full, I spent about 45 minutes walking around. It was slowly dying and after last year I decided not to go this year (50 mile one way drive). This year it's on Saturday, in a different building and being run by a new owner. Who knows what it will be like. Hopefully it will be successful, if someone goes please let us know how it goes. |

You're a lot closer, I'm almost 2hours away. If I don't end up getting anything the wife want's to come with and we could make a day of it.

Re: Jackson MI swap meet
Growing up in Michigan in the early 70’s, I remember the Jackson Swap Meet was always on of the largest winter meets in Michigan, along with the meet at the Detroit State Fairgrounds…a big Ford/Model A meet.

Re: Jackson MI swap meet
If my wife and I don't have anything going on that day we may take a trip over there and check this out. We're about an hour away. Is there usually anyone selling cars and trucks there?

Re: Jackson MI swap meet
I haven’t seen any cars or trucks or any outside vendors in the last few years. You have a better chance of seeing cars or trucks at the Kalamazoo swap meet in early February, especially if the weather is nice.
