Mystery Blower

Does anyone know what this is and goes to. Came with a bunch of flathead parts that I purchased long ago. Does it have any value. Looks to be in great condition.

Not of any use for a Ford flathead. The blower is from a modern production car possibly a V-6 since its small compared to what's used all newer V-8 engines.

This type of modern screw blower is what's know as dry this means no gas gets between the rotors only air. That odd looking opening in the rear of the case is where the air enters. The gasoline enters below the blower into the intake manifold by way of electric injectors the air from the blower rotors and the gas then combine to feed the engine. This arrangement is what's used on every supercharged production car on the market today and for a few decades now.

Thanks for the knowledge. The V belt pulley is what made me think it was for an older installation. I've had it for many years not knowing anything about it.

I think its for a 3.8 6 cyl GM . Pulley was changed

For what it's worth, I seem to remember a thread on the H.A.M.B. several years ago where someone used one of these "rear input" blowers on his build. I remember that it looked a lot like the one in your picture, but I could be way off because it was a while ago. If you have some time to spend, you may want to look for the thread over there. (The "Search" function over there works a lot better than the one on this forum.) If I remember correctly, whoever it was figured out a clever way to get around the odd inlet location.

That's a Ford part number on the blower. Probably find the application if you search for the number.

E9 prefix would be 1989 so Thunderbird Super Coupe 3.8L V6.

Man!! You may have uncovered a real gem. Here. If it was me, I would graciously prevail upon the great "Ol Ron" to help quantify the nuances and historical relevance of this piece. This was his " Grand Stage". He is so very knowledgeable but even more important, he is so gracious with his time.

The problem with blowers etc. in these flatheads, there is a limit to modifying them to the point of irrelevance.
My opinion. I admire those who can get the most with the least in these engines. To modify these engines, much beyond the initial engineering genius levels established by Ford's ground breaking engineering department, takes the fun out of it.
FH's don't breath. It's a wonderful Thing!!! That gives us all a challenge.
Feed the engine as instructed on the label.

Dan in MI nailed it. The part number E9SE is '89 Thunderbird 3.8L
Turbo Coupe. Pretty sure it's made by Eaton. Not sure if the pulley is correct.

Sorry for the rant. To offer an answer for your inquiring mind, the Ardun conversion first comes to mind. "Let's kill the flathead and convert it to a SBC." Why? You want a SBC? Hows about yous go on down to Bubba's Salvage Yard and Bait Shop and buy one.
