Tempting, but with the prices of finished cars dropping it might be prudent to wait.

If anyone is interested in it and is out of state, I live in the town next door, and will go take a look at it for them.

Heads up, that missing passenger-side rear fender is woodie-specific and a real unicorn. When I built my '38 (same body wood as the '39) it took me a year to track one down, then I had to pass a qualification exam to get the guy to sell it to me. You'd think I was asking to marry his daughter. It was 600 bucks -- and that was 25 years ago.

Yeah, that's the thing with Station Wagons, lot's of unique parts. The littlest part can take a long time to find.

The 41 that I am finishing up was very complete. Did however have to find a gas cap cover for the fender. Nope, sedan is not the same. East Coast Woodies had one. Hoping to find a driver front door latch that works better, another one year only. Bought some fender trim. Nope rear is not the same either although the front is. Painter wouldn't attempt to fit the rear set I bought which was close but no cigar. I see this 41 is late and has the fender trim. Fedex lost some un-obtanium pieces of it as well. So no fender trim like the early 41s. A good hood was not the easiest to find either being a one year only, but got one from a barner although I had to shlepp it 150 miles personally in a rented van thru LA traffic on a stop over trip to Seattle. Bought a repro antenna. Nope the inside piece from the radio to the header knob not the same either, had to re-chrome the original. Bought a set of 4 "41" bumper tips the seller swore would fit while the car was getting new wood in California so I couldn't check fit.

With this collection of part for free you would be under water and take two or more years to finish. Yah, and he has all the parts! When have I ever heard that before? I paid around that sum for mine 3 years ago with half rotten wood, half un-usable wood, and new front doors that wouldn't fit.

BTW I was able to buy a NOS passenger rear fender for $300. Took the chance it was better than the one I had.

I think, with a few exceptions of course, just about any old car has to be done as a labor of love, and if you really keep track of $ and time spent it would be a losing proposition. And take some of the fun out of it.
