I was watching it online live and it brought $80,000

I'm confused! The lots have been going thru in relative sequence. The chassis is lot 1340. I watched the numbers come and go they just sold lot 1342.1. Better call security...Bill

Hi Everyone, When someone finds the video please link it for us. I feel like Santa didn't show up!

If the fee is 10% then it's $96,800 plus sales tax and transport.

Edit to add: The above assumption was incorrect, the hammer dropped at 80K then 10% was added, final price $88K

I believe Mike (1935fordtn) is correct at a price of $80,000 plus the 10% buyers premium equals the Barrett-Jackson listed selling price of $88,000. Auction results are almost always the selling price with the buyers premium.

OK so now how do we find out where it went? I'm still steamed that we didn't get to see the chassis cross the floor! MRTEXAS was right when he commented that BJ was more about T&A. Burt Reynolds had the stage at the time with some doll.... Bill

This 1940 Ford Cut-away Chassis seems better buying than the restored 1932 Ford Chassis that was Auctioned last year for over double the price of the 1940 Chassis? I hope that it gets displayed where enthusiasts can view it.

At least it is an authentic factory display chassis, unlike that "alleged" '32 display chassis from last year's auction.

It may be rare, but each of the presidential candidates should use this as a sign the economy isn't as bad as they say it is. $88K for a display piece is a chunk of change only a select few can spend for a piece of history.

I hope it goes somewhere others can see it, but I still can't understand the price tag associated with this chassis.
