Default Original Title - 1931

Interesting document that came with my car. My current title is a new issue. I covered up the engine number on this title picture. Car still has the original motor. I looked up the number on Steve's website. Motor was built on March 10, 1931. I have been wondering if any of the Boylan's of Hazel Park are still around. Would be fun to communicate with them. All the stamps are license plate numbers. Looks like the last stamp was in 55. The Briggs body tag is in good shape. I wondering what the other tag should look like. I would like to get a new tag for a display I'm making, not to put on the firewall. Sure is fun collecting history.

Congratulations! That is an awesome document. It would be great to get in touch with family members to find out stories and see if there are any photographs of the car in its younger years.

The plate above the Briggs tag is available through most Model A Vendors. Its a Data/patent plate.

I've got an original 1931 North Carolina driver's license with my name on it! Well, my grandfather's name to be exact. Grandad was Senior, my dad was Junior and I'm the III.

I didn't think they came with body tags in 31.

I have my Grandfather's 1929 California drivers license and the license says that ( This card is good until revoked, when signed by the operator to whom it is issued ) dated JULY, 22nd, 1929

You most likely have a body made by Briggs or Murray .hence the body tag

Provenance for a Model A is amazingly awesome. Note: I just heard them use the word provenance on "The Pawn Stars" in regards to a rifle that was possibly used in the Hatfield and McCoy feud.

It would be great to have a thread about Model A's that have a well authenticated provenance.

I took the original title out of the frame and found mileage logs and oil change stickers documenting the mileage. More documents too. Original owners death certificate Hiram A. Boylan. Death cert lists Hiram’s occupation as a Minister (lifelong). His draft registration listed his occupation as Machinist Ford Motor Company, Highland Park. He bought the car when he was 59 and died six years later in Stockbridge, Michigan from the flu. The car then belonged his wife Teresa. She is listed as co-owner on original title. She kept the car until July 5, 1957 when she sold it so she owned it 26 years.

When sold in 57 the car had 64,954 so this means that the car has been driven 4,476 miles in the last 57 years. I found a list of owners besides the first owner and years owned. I am the seventh.

That's so cool knowing the history of your car! It's like knowing its soul.

Hi Bob do you go by Tripp?
My brother in law is a second and his son was called Tripp when younger. Not so now.

License plate now restored. Also a custom matching frame. I need a couple more reflector bolts.

I painted it. It's an old frame that I have had for about 10 years. I've looked for another like it but haven't found a blank with the nice flat area like this one. If you find a blank like it let me know.
