Default Need a few N.O.S. Ford parts?

Searching for parts for my 46 business coupe, and came across this sale...
And it's even fairly close!

http://www.nebauction.com/Pages/TwoD...7_18_2014.aspx

Looks like it might be a good sale.

8BA carb in a can! Never knew that was how they came.

I looked through the pics and didn't notice a can big enough to contain an nos grill for my 39 pickup...

Can you say hoarder, but in a good way. One person could never use all those parts in a life time. Wish I could go to it just to see how they sell the items plus pickup a few things for myself.

I'll bet he traveled around a bit and hit every Ford dealership around and asked about old obsolete parts. Most of the little dealers had a lot of stuff they wanted to toss and he bought the stuff dirt cheap! Back in the 40's-50's the dealers could not return parts to Ford. They bought it, they owned it. The obsolete parts return program did not start until the 60's. I had a chance to clean out a large barn in New Milford, Ct. with lots of late 50's and early 60's parts back in the 90's. Too bad I was broke. I did get a bunch of parts books though.
I'd go crazy in a place like that using my Ford parts skills to categorize it all. Talk about fun!

It's hard to believe, but back in the 60s, when I was "picking" Ford dealers, I would have left about 90% of that stuff behind. I didn't have the storage and you could not give that stuff away. I just went for the "pretty" stuff.
Sure wish that I could go back !
