Been out of town on business for the last week and was really looking forward to sitting down and have my Hamb & coffee. Damn, now I have to work.

Re: H.A.M.B access
Spring football is over. It's 120 days till the Ducks first game and now the HAMB is down. I need a fix, I may have to take up smoking & drinking. Somebody take pity & start a thread on black wheels or the hate of SBC.

Re: H.A.M.B access
You guys just think you got it bad without your H.A.M.B.

Re: H.A.M.B access
[QUOTE;872548] It just seems unusual for them to be down this long with no notice. .[/QUOTE]
For those that didn't find the link or haven't read the note Ryan left: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=22566 Under Construction Posted by Ryan on May 6, 2014 and filed under: News Well fellas… The time has finally come and as you read this, we are head down in the process of bringing you the new Jalopy Journal. As a result, we will be down anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days depending on how quickly we managed to transfer the massive amounts of data we are working with. This is, by far, the most sweeping redesign we have ever executed and due to this unprecedented nature, we are pretty damned unclear on exactly how long all of this is going to take. Just stay cool. Be patient… And we will be back before you know it with something that will knock your socks off. In the meantime, I’ve put together a list of books that I consider “must reading” for any man looking to solidify his passion and knowledge of traditional hot rods and customs. Spend our downtime broadening your horizons with these: 1. The Birth Of Hot Rodding. This one is no longer in print and is getting expensive on the used market, but even at close to $150, you can’t go wrong. This book is a staple. Seriously. 2. Dry Lakes & Drag Strips. Another now expensive staple that you can’t afford to go on without. 3. The Andy Southard Books (Hot Rods of the 1950′s, Custom Cars of the 1950′s, Hot Rods & Customs of the 1960′s). We did an interview with Andy a while back… His books remain at the top of my list and should be on yours as well. 4. Kustomland. If you are custom guy, you already have this book. If you don’t, you have no idea what you are missing. James Potter’s photography is absolutely amazing. 5. Hot Rod Milestones. A great book that does a good job of chronicling the most important historical hot rods ever built. 6. The American Hot Rod. Dean Batchelor had a hand in this one… As such, it’s a must own. 7. The All American Hot Rod. Good simply for the photography… 8. Hot Rod Magazine: All The Covers. Every cover of HRM since 1948. It’s invaluable. 9. Art of The Hot Rod. Ken Gross did this one… And it’s gorgeous. 10. How To Build A Traditional Ford Hot Rod. Vern Tardel… I almost didn’t include this one on the list as everyone already has this one, right? 11. Hot Rod. David Perry’s classic… I know it’s considered lame to admire the scene, but I do anyway and this book is beautiful. 12. The Scrapbook. TRJ did this one and it’s still one of my favorites. 13. The Dan Post Box Set. Another TRJ offering and another must have for the custom man. ……………… I could go on, but somehow given the circumstances it just feels right to stop at 13. With any luck, you won’t have enough time to read all these books before The Jalopy Journal is back up and running. Stay tuned! -Ryan . Last edited by moefuzz; 05-08-2014 at 06:55 PM. |

Re: H.A.M.B access
I thought the H.A.M.B. went through a major change/restructuring last year. Wasn't that working well? I'm a member but rarely go there, so probably don't know/realize what I'm missing .

Re: H.A.M.B access
LOL..I know how you felt Mart. First the H.A.M.B. and then the Barn. It was just too much to handle for awhile, but then the Barn came back on line and I suddenly came back to life again...

The only thing saving my sanity is knowing that I'm not missing anything because it's down for everybody.
I just keep repeating that and maybe I'll be ok..... |
