Default Crab Distributor rebuild

I followed the info in Mike Davison's book by removing the two point set and putting in one in my crab distributor. Now I can't seem to get it to run smoothly at fast idle. I never did run it with two points. I had the conversion done before I cranked it up the first time. It runs good going down the road however. Did I make a mistake? should I switch it back. I am running 6 volts. Cam is a Schneider 255 cam. The engines sounds real good at low idle but I should think it should smooth out at higher RPM.

Not familiar with this change. Why convert from dual to single points?

Hi CalMI; If it ran good before why not put it back the way it was? I never heard of removing one of the points set to improve a dual point distributor, you just decrease saturation. I'm curious why you did this, Craig.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to send it down to Bubbas' and have them set it up right.
