Default Road trip

We are away fora couple ofweeksin the 33 and caravan, had a bad start as the condenser played up only 20 klms from home, soon fixed that and are now are 6 days away and about 800 klms, yes I travelled easy on the back roads,we are heading for the nations Capitol for a look and to meet up with Kpar,
Yesterday I went into Brisbane to pick up wife Carol, and for those Aussies the 33 went up the towoomba range in top gear no worries.
Travelled two days in the pouring rain with no problems.
The 33 needs a wash as we travelled on dirt back roads in the rain.
Will post a couple of pics later,
We are heading NSW today .

That's what's known in East Texas as a "house with hubcaps". DD

Ted, have still the mechanical brakes but electric on the van, took a bit of ingenuity to get all that stuff working on 6 volts.
Ron the 33 has the 99 a engine in ,265 ci,tows a treat,has a 3.78 gears in as well

Update; Lawrie sent me an email and some pictures so I'll pass it on for you guys.
Rob, 33 going like a rocket, some guy came up to us in the van park in lightening ridge where we are staying for a few days,he was impressed with the speed we were travelling,he said they were doing 95 and saw us go past as he was filling up,it took him a whole day to catch us,we are doing 90-95,
The generator played up on the way down just out of Dubbo,it was a wire chewed up inside, easy fix,but at just about the same spot on the way back the generator stopped working again, this time one of the brushes was worn down a bit and just needed adjusting,10 mins.
We could have sold the 33 and the van heaps of times, lots of interest in them.
I have bee playing with the ign timing along the way, maybe too much as the fuel economy has gone up a bit, going to adjust it back today.
Oil and filter change today as well.

My gearbox is going great also,it's a 46 side shift guts in the 33 case.

Thanks Rob,
We had a run in with the FEDS outside Parliament House,I had stopped on the footpath for a photo when they pulled up and told me to move on,I explained that no one in their right mind would use an old 33 ford for a car bomb, but he still told me to move,I sneaked back later and got the pic, also tried to get a pic of the 33 outside the USA embassy, same result, the guards took pics of the 33 ,so I said fares fare and went to get my camera out, they were OK but our FEDS came straight over,so I decided it was best to move.
We are going for a drive around Lightening Ridge this arfo, the largest opal field in the world, you have not seen anything like it.
Lots of old ford flathead trucks laying around, will get some pics this arfo.

And you didn't load up the van with old goodies as you went around lighting ridge.. [Ford parts of course not opals pfft! ; ) ]

The feds are a bit worried about you Lawrie.. Maybe if you hadn't been waring a turban you would have been alright ..??
