John, My 39 was in about the same shape but with an old stake bed. I would love to have a truck like yours and would leave the body as is and have a sleeper with a hot WaltDupont flathead.

Above is a side photo of my 38 plumbing truck, I am asking a general opinion on several directions my truck may go. This truck has a full maple interior, cherry wood flooring, slat maple headliner. I am considering redoing my sign, it matches my service trucks but I am not so sure it looks right on the oldie, I am considering a maple grained chevron or placard in a light maple to match the interior and an old school lettering that has an appearance of being heated into the maple for a 3d effect, the flag and banner would be gone. which way to go leave it or wood it? Next, my rear tires are a bit undersized for the area they occupy they are 14s, should I go to a larger 15 and thicker wall and wider tire and leave the caps and rings or should I switch to a set of billet magnums and do all 4 ?

Here is a '39 3/4 ton PU truck that I bought and trailered home from the mid west. I didn't keep it very long. Someone wanted to buy it, so off she went, never to be seen by me again. Some kids had this truck before me and were playing around spray painting different ares with rattle can spray paint. This truck had originally come from California and still had the business name of some bar painted on the door. If this had been a 1/2 ton PU, I would have kept it and still owned it today. JM

Here's mine, a '39 1/2 ton, shortly after I found it. The poor thing sat for 30 years with the heads off. I'll be starting a thread about the work I'm doing to it soon...

Here's my 39 stake body. Just got it recently. It's all original, all there,
but hasn't run since 1967, and still has the 1967 Michigan license plates on it.
Will start working on it soon.
