Thanks Gary
Checked Plucks site but nothing there for the question at hand, did go to Dave Sturges site on MAFCA but no answers either. |

Re: Assembly Plants and Body Numbers
Joop,
I have not seen anything like this before. The numbers and the other characters may have been done at two different times. Looks like a center punch and a small cold chisel were used for the odd characters. Regards, Dave |

Re: Assembly Plants and Body Numbers
Don't know if this will help, but appears to me that the miss-stamped letters are "VH"

Re: Assembly Plants and Body Numbers
Most of the Murray and Briggs bodies had a small tag either attached to front body sill or firewall. The Ford built bodies have the numbers stamped into the front Steel body sill (cross member). These numbers are production numbers for each assembly plant.

Re: Assembly Plants and Body Numbers
Could it be just an owner putting on "his" number just for ID purposes??

Re: Assembly Plants and Body Numbers
This must be the month for body number questions. Here is a link from the Model t site that should answer your question. Hope this helps.
