Default window felts

What did you use to stick your new window felts around the door window openings? Has anyone used anything other than the screws/staples that come with the kits.

thanks
GB

I did not use the staples that came with it. They seemed impossible to use as instructed. I used 3M Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive and worked great. http://macsautoparts.com/early-v8-fo...0R3CHL1076927/

Macs sells the small screws, I drilled 3/32 holes and the screw heads aren't visible or anywhere near the glass surface once installed.

I installed mine with 3M double sided tape. This is the stuff they use to mount trim and mouldings on newer cars. It's weatherproof and sticks like crazy. The only drawback is it is thicker than glue.

Be more careful than I was if you use screws. I left one to high and cost me another side window due to a Big crack.

Another reason I stick with the 3M adhesive.

Thanks for your input fellas. Mine is Vintique ex C&G Ford. Twenty years ago for my last car they came from Dennis Carpenter , I think. Same screws but no staples.

I bought the clips that are supposed to be like the original installation. I have not installed the fuzzies yet. Has anyone use the clips?

I use the clips. I modified a standard vice grip plier to close against a stop in order to clamp all the clips the same amount onto the fuzzy. Any pliers will work because it doesn't take much pressure to clamp the clips tight. Cut off a short length of fuzzy to experiment with exact placement of the clips so it looks right once installed. john

1/8" aluminium pop rivets low down on the felt and paint the heads black (or dog sh*t)
