My avatar still has mechanical brakes that work well, and will never be converted to hydraulics as long as I own this car.
I own another 35 Ford that has the absolute worse quality and functioning hydraulic conversion that I've ever seen. This was done by a previous owner, and this car will be converted back to stock 35 mechanical brakes.

Per the parts manual the part number is 48-2499 and they are 75 inches long for 35-36 passenger and commercial vehicles.

Hi All,
Many thanks for the information on the 6 rod braking system. I have now made up the rear brake rods as per the dimensions given to me.
Please may I ask if any of you have information on how to adjust the brakes on this braking system, particularly RHD. All the information I have and can find, relates to adjusting the 4 rod braking system.

Viv, There is a special return spring used that hooks onto the 5/16 dia front clevis pin of the rear brake rods, the other end hooks onto the rear box portion of the centre X member. Do you have that in place?

One thing about rods is they have to be dead straight AND have circular not egged-out holes in their ends. Same for all pins and clevises that they're going through.

I have a return spring hooked up from the brake rod that goes to the pedal, but no others, please can you post a picture of the springs you are talking about.
I haven't driven the car yet, still have to pull the steering column again and replace the worm and sector, but I will get to it.

The spring I refer to is #48-2472 as pictured in the second page posted in post #2 by Alex

Thanks for the pictures Brian, I will look on my freinds 35 coupe and have some made.
I forgot to ask, are these springs on the service brake rods, the emergency brake rods, or both, many thanks
