The inside of rear fender area on the body, black or body color? The inside of all body panels including firewall, black, body color or unpainted with a coat of undersealer? The inside of front fenders, black or body color? Many thanks Regards Viv Westbury |

Re: 1935 Phaeton questions
You can usually find the original body color up on the sheet
metal behind the dash. G.M.

Re: 1935 Phaeton questions
Hi,
Thanks for the replies, my phaeton was a basket case when I got it, the remains had been in numerous bush fires and was a rusty hulk with absolutely NO paint or wood left on the body, inside or out. I was lucky enough to find one of the original front doors for the car, the hinges had been cut off with a hacksaw and when offered up to the body the cuts lined up perfectly. The door had a little green paint left on it. I bought a touring sedan as a parts car for the running gear and front bodywork and have been lucky to find doors, top frames, center pillars and other parts on ebay and on this forum. Thanks to all that have helped me the car is looking a lot better than my bank balance. Thank you all for the advice and help Viv Westbury |

Re: 1935 Phaeton questions
Looks like a roadster cowl in the middle of the phaeton, might get a few bucks for that.

Re: 1935 Phaeton questions
Hi All,
The 28 roadster pickup body and the extra 35 cowl found new homes, the 35 touring sedan was cut up to use the floor pan and sills for my phaeton. The sedan doors, trunk lid and cowl went to South Africa. I still have the 2 rear quarter panels but the inner fender sections are badly rusted out. I will take some pictures soon to post of my progress on the phaeton. Viv. |
