Default Shine Shine! I need more Shine!!!

Hello A Gang; I've been buffing on the Tudor all week, but so far I've not been able to take down a single stray aircraft, or blind any of the neighbors kids, can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks,Kev.

That's a shine suitable for a 30 minute tv infomercial.

Is it metal, or is it cloth?

I want to paint a car with that reflective red or yellow paint they use on signs - - and then go out at night

I looked at the above photo last night, and just didn't understand what I was looking at, the neighbors garage in another post is better IMO. You are a master at block sanding. Bob

We see how amazing the gloss and shine is on the outside, but what does the rest of the car look like

I don't know about anyone else, but I can almost see the individual ribs of the plastic tarp in the reflection. To me that is pretty dang shiny!

How far do you want to go. The "A" should have a 70% reflective gloss level. That like twice as good as modern car. Due to the paint being buffed on the line. I've had good luck with the "Presta" line of compounds. If you've painted the car with base clear you need to cut the surface with 800, 1200. 1500 sand paper and then buff. This should get you close but not to shiny so it looks like plastic.

Hope this Helps: The Old Tinbasher.

So while these cars were rolling on the assembly line with speed being the #1 priority they had time to sand 3 times and buff the paint?

Weren't they painted with nitro cellulose lacquer? It would require buffing to obtain a shine but not sanding.

Kev, what you did wrong was you didn't put a at the end of your "honest appraisal" of your work! But I got it, so let me just say that next time when you are painting don't let your wife lean against it with her blue undees!
