Default Trans case 78-7006

When did they get so valuable? One recently sold on EPAY for $671.99 plus $47.00 shpg. Bare case with low reverse idler gear, no pics of rear thrust area. I just don't get it!

They didn't get that valuable. Well, except maybe that one.
Ebay is, as you most likely realize, a very "fickle" place.

Wow. That's nuts. You can get a rebuilt trans for that much scratch. Some people have more money than brains I guess.

Old parts 101: NEVER try to understand what is going on at Ebay. That path leads only to brain damage.
One of the things I love about Ryan's boards is that things for sale have to have a PRICE.

Just bought a pair of floor shift cases at the Portland OR swap meet last weekend for $15 total. A little rusty but no damage to either. Being sold by a Chevy collector so just wanted to get rid of their Ford junk. One cast "78" and one "99". The "99" has the bigger area at the bottom like the 1941-1952 pickups light 3-speeds. Anyone seen that number on a floor shift case?
