Default wiper motor color

I just got my wiper motor rebuilt and was wondering what color it should be painted. The car is a 1930 Murry Town Sedan 155c. The wiper is a Owen- Dyneto C3 (OD-C3). I have asked a few club members and no one knows for sure. Some think its black others think it should be the color of the car. The car is just a driver but I would like to have it correct.

I'm pretty sure they were all black. Every body style and every year. I had my cover powder coated in gloss.

All Owen-Dyneto wipers were finished in a dull black enamel with a slight sheen.

Actually, the latest research indicates that the Owen-Dyneto wipers were finished in black lacquer which appeared as a semi-gloss to satin finish.

Yours would be semi gloss black.

Certain body styles used CHROME vacuum wiper motors, to include 68C Cabriolet, 400A Convertible Sedan, and 190A Victoria to name some.

Good call, Bruce. I've never had a fancy "A", so never thought of those.

The Victoria did not use a chrome wiper.

In addition to the 68C Cabriolet, 400A Convertible Sedan, and 190A Victoria, the 68B Cabriolet, 66A Delux Pickup, and delux heavy commercials such as ambulances also had chrome wiper motors.
