Default 32 vs 33 Sedan Window Regulators

The original 32 and 33 window regulators look very similar in the 28-38 “Hardware & Trimming Supplies” book. Can original 33 versions (e.g. 40-702700-A) be used in a 32 Tudor? The Mac’s catalog lists the same reproduction regulator for both 32 and 33.

33/34 roll back with reversing of the handle, that requires a special regulator , not sure if 32 does that ,?? Ted

'34 only rolls back. The '33 regulator in question can be made to work but will not include an important detail. The '32 regulator has what I would call "stand offs" to space it from the inner door panel. The spacers are 7/16" high, 9/16" dia. and have an 82° counter sink to be used with 1/4-20 FH screws. You can eliminate the thread and just drill thru, but regardless a means of getting them in place will be necessary.

Fordors, thanks for the very clear information. Now I understand the difference. The attached photo appears to be a 33. On close inspection, it has no standoffs but rather some sort of captured nut. I suppose a standoff could be fabricated to add to the 33 if all else was the same (bolt spacing, etc.) but might not be worth the trouble.

Does anyone have any of these "standoffs" or spacers? Are they repo'd?

An ordinary commercial standoff might work. For example, see:

Would have to be tack welded in place.
