After experiencing all Model A Parts Houses, after thirty years, based on quality of products, knowledge of products and service, I have settled comfortably with Bratton's, Snyder's, Bert's & A&L. For me, the rest are 'back-ups'.

I find the biggest problem with Mac's are their prices. I see them selling certain parts at TRIPLE the price sometimes compared to Brattons and Snyders. That's enough for me to stay away.

Funny, because I find Mac's to be lower in price then the rest.....

guess everyone has their own opinion.

Isn't MAC's the place that made reproduction pickup beds, or have I got them confused with another company? If so who is making the beds now? Bob

I was just out to Denver and was at Bert's. Still the same great guys and access. However, I priced a pair of 30/31 rear fenders and he wanted, IIRC, $450 for the pair. That seemed high to me. They were good, but not $450 good. I bought them individually for considerably less at Hershey . I'd still recommend them because I think that they are a pretty good outfit. Otherwise it's Snyder's and Brattan's. However, I did return to Mac's this year and I found their prices good, quality seemed good (so far) Shipping was good. I give them High marks.

Of the US based shops I contacted, Macs was the ONLY one to reply.

Mack Products in Moberly, MO has been making repro bed components for about 40 years.

I order from MAC's for my 49 Ford truck and haven't had a problem yet (I received an order yesterday as a mater of fact) BUT I check out their prices online and then call So-Cal in PHX to see how much more it would be there (remember - at MAC's you have to pay shipping) and if So-Cal is within 10-15% more than MAC's online prices - I go and pick it up from them. They get most of their stuff from MAC's anyway... so why not.

I ordered a part from them and received the following on the notification.

"Thank you for ordering from MAC's Antique Auto Parts online!
We successfully received the following order placed by you from our website.
Shipping costs are shown below; shown is estimated for orders outside of the contiguous US. Please Note: Once an order is submitted, MAC's cannot add parts to an order or cancel an order."

The red color is from their email I did not add it for this post.

More then two weeks have passed so I asked about the order and got this,
"You part will be out of stock until the 30th of this month."

In this case I'm not in a rush for the part but does anyone think that one should be able to cancel such an order if one wants to?

I crossed them off of my "PLACES TO ORDER FROM" list several years ago. Seems changing hands hasn't improved their operation.

My experience with Mac's has been mixed. I ordered two U40 fasteners. These fasteners attach the side curtains to the body via the body sockets. They were out of production for a long time and I was really happy to find that Mac's had some. They sent me two packages of hog rings. The hog rings were labeled as U40 fasteners. I called Mac's and spoke to a nice lady who knew nothing about hog rings or U40 fasteners. I had to show her in the catalogue what the difference was. They sent me the fasteners along with a written appology.

Later I called Mac's to see if I could get some vinyl by the yard so I could repair the seat in the roadster. There was not a listing in the catalogue for vinyl by the yard. I was transferred to their upholstery department and spoke to a nice gentleman. He sold me the material at a reasonable price. The shipping was good too, about 5 days to Okla.

Their shipping has really improved. Most vendors claim same day shipping for orders placed in the morning, but Mac's waited 3 days before shipping your order. You could pay extra for "expedited" shipping and they would ship it the next day. Now they seem to have same day shipping.
