What's Best way to polish/clean up some original parts MotoMeter and such

Any good ideas on polishing up Motometer? Since I'm limited in what I can do and starting on that, I'm taking on small tasks and polish/cleaning up some components and looking for thoughts on best cleaning products.
Never dull?
Chorme Polish?
Scotch Bright?

What products would you recomend and what should I stay away from that would damage parts not only brass but original parts such as door handles - choke - parking brake handle - shifter- spark gas rods- radiator cap- gas cap and so forth?

Is there an all around good cleaner?

I've had pretty good luck, using ole everyday, BRASSO. You can even shine plastic with it.

MOTHERS Aluminum polish is a miracle in a bottle. Use it on anything hard that you want shiny and it will even clean the plastic headlights / tail lights on modern cars

I use Simichrome. Whatever you use, be sure its safe on nickle, as your plating is nickle and very thin by now. I can see brass showing from worn through spots in places.

when I was in game machines pinballs ect I have a maybe rock polisher it is a vibrating pot I used to polish the steel balls for pinballs and now use it for my A parts using polishing media I let mine run for maybe a week or until the right look

I use a rotary rock tumbler for rustyparts. For plated parts, a caarefullluse of the Dremel tool with a bress wire brush. It will clean the mung of most plating. But be careful not to rub thru the plating. Clem

for rusty parts in tumbler- use polish compound but what liquid, Some oil or just use polish media dry?

Brasso worked for us in the Navy. I just swiped a can from my wife and hid it in the garage.

EVAPO-RUST is another amazing product. Safely removes rust, but nothing else and safe on skin and the environment. And you can use it over and over until it stops working.

I get mine at Harbor Freight. The stuff really works.

I've used NEVER-DULL Magic Wadding Polish for years with good results. Never-Dull works well on chrome, nickle, and stainless. Great Stuff!

Tom, I couldn't agree more Evapo Rust is great. Yes it's expensive but it's also so easy to use.

They say it's proprietary information and I haven't been able to find out what it is.

However, you can use it over and over until it turns completely black, and if the water in the solution evaporates, you just add more tap water to keep it going.

Dremiel tool with a soft bruffing brush and some polish. I use Mothers' also but there are several brands that are almost the same. On harder, more rusted small items sometimes I use tooth paste, larger items a drill with a wire brush.

As stated above, some items have VERY THIN plating, so go slow and be careful. So items are so cheap (<$20) that it's easier to replace.

I found some Evapo-Rust in 5 gal cans (cheaper ($62) but shipping is high).
