Re: Hershey 2021
Got my credentials envelope today. I've been going since the early '60s as a kid, remember cars in the stadium, and fleas between the stadium and Park Ave clearly. One of the old black pipe entrance gates to the flea market field on Park Ave is still there and in use by Hershey park crews. It has always been nearly impossible to get photos of the show cars, I think it used to be worse then than it is now.

Re: Hershey 2021
Russcc, Gasoline Alley is no more. The Hershey company ( Herco) took most of that area for expansion. Some of the former Gasoline Alley vendors are scattered throughout the entire flea market.

Re: Hershey 2021
Folks,
Have lived in PA all my life , had a classic car when I should have been doing other things in life., But never went to Hershey. Probably too late to start now. Except for now the new toy may need some things?? Hope you guys have fun? (Sounds like he may be pronouncing vehicle correctly to me!) Regards, Chris

Re: Hershey 2021
One of the gasoline alley crew told me in 2019 that the space they normally used behind the stadium was taken temporarily for construction storage for a project. He said they would be back in the alley next year, 2020. Little did we know then. The project did not look to me at the time, that it would impinge on gasoline alley. We will see.

Re: Hershey 2021
I know a couple guys who had spaces in Gasoline alley, were right near the root beer stand at the end of the stadium. They moved to the Green field and like it better there, are not going back. A couple others with spaces elsewhere in that field like their new spots better also.
I drove up and took a look at the construction last summer. I couldn't get close due to construction fencing, but much of that lot seemed to be just gone, as in excavated away. Construction was nowhere complete so it could be replaced, I'm looking forward to seeing how it is this year. |

Re: Hershey 2021
Hershey Experience:
Years ago at Hershey checking out different vendors, I came across a vender who mostly had older Ford parts. I noticed a nice hub cap for a 1930 Chevrolet. I asked the gentlemen how much for the hub cap? The guy replied “I’m selling a complete set of 5 not the single one on display.I asked the gentlemen to see the other 4 caps. He said He had the other 4 in His motor home And brought them out to show me, they were all in great shape so I purchased them. After getting home and cleaning out my trunk ,I noticed I had only 4 and evidently left the one on display and only took the 4 that He brought out from the motor home. The following year returned to Hershey hoping to locate the site I purchased the hub caps from. I searched and found the site and asked the gentlemen if He had sold the 5 hub caps the previous year and His replay was “I was hoping you would come buy as I saved it for you and have it in the motor home” The gentlemen gave it to me no charge and ever since every time at Hershey I stop by to see Him and we became HERSHEY FRIENDS. It made me really appreciate people like Him! I think it shows there is still honest people like Him! Have a great time st Hershey this year! Bob |

Re: Hershey 2021
You do make a bunch of new friends at Hershey, whether it's the 2 guys next to you, Dale & Bill from the Midwest who you see every year, or the guy selling some tools. Asked him what he did for living ? Chemical engineer, he replied. He said, you know that shiny packaging stuff that looks like aluminum, it's actually Mylar, and I developed it.

Re: Hershey 2021
Speaking of announcements
All day Saturday: No vehicle traffic in the flea market area. I can remember the aisles packed with people who could only get in one day.
