Control Arm
Should I bend my new control rod (silver) like my old black control rod (black)? See picture.

Re: Control Arm
No you should not. If you straighten the old one out you will find it is much longer than the new one.

Re: Control Arm
Thanks for posting George,
I have the same linkage rod as you that has the bends, some of my club members believe that someone deliberately bent it this way, it appears to be original, anybody know why it was shaped this way and what year they used them.

Re: Control Arm
The repop rods that I bought for my 31 coupe and 31 S/w were both too long - by about 1/4". I cut out 1/4" out of the middle of the rod, threaded each end of rod at the cut - about 3/8" of thread, then screwed a long nut into the rod. That not only shortens the rod but gives abut 1/8" of length adjustment. Used either 12-24 threads or 3/16" threads - dont remember- but either works. A lock nut against the long nut and the length is locked in. ken
