94's or 97's?
94's or 97's 'tis the question! I was able to get my hand on 3 rebuilt 94's from a buddy of mine for a good price. I got one primary and two secondaries, linkage, and all the goodies that go along with setting them up. Question is should I sell them and get 97's since they are a little more sought after or keep the 94's?

You already have them, and they are all set up. Keep them. Nothing wrong with 94's.

Re: 94's or 97's?
Personally I think the 94 is a better carburetor. They are less temperamental and are less likely to leak. They flow a little more CFM's than the original 97's. If you are looking for that original nostalgia look that the 97's have then I would spend the extra money for the new 97's that Stromberg remakes. My vote would be to run the 94's, today very few people notice the difference anyways and you will have less issues than running a set of original 97's. Good luck with your decision.

Re: 94's or 97's?
You can bolt 3 x 94's on an Edelbrock manifold and if my memory is up to pop, a Sharp triple. However, the Offenhauser triple intake will need something else for them to fit due to closer set carb spacing. Angled spacers are best, chopping the middle float bowl screw and it's casting bump has been done many times, but frowned on and pertentionly increases leaks.
Offy will accept 97's, Edelbrock will accept 94's or 97's. Navarro is also 97 only, as are most aftermarket triples. Martin. |

Re: 94's or 97's?
I run dual 94"s and love them. They also get the "AHHHS" when I lift the hood. Most folks don't have a clue of what they are seeing just that it looks and sounds cool.
Enjoy what you have and save the $ to buy your wife a gift. |
