Default u-joint questions

I am looking for a new u-joint. I tried to order one from Snyders and they said that they were having trouble finding a quality product. Is anyone selling a good reproduction?

Bob Drake has quality stuff if you dont mind paying for quality. The V8 joint will work in a model A I believe.

Agree with Vince... there's still lots of NOS or NORS units out there which is my preference. I have not had any experience with the Drake units but know they are available.

Search ebay. Know there are some that have a longer snout.. .stay away from those.

I put the Bob Drake sealed bearings model in My Victoria when we installed the Mitchell. It has been flawless. Its a quality product.

What type is the old one?

Bratton's sells a kit to rebuild the non riveted ones.

Thank you for your input. I looked on e-bay but a used one may not be any better than the two that I have now so I am going to order one from Bob Drake.

I have one more question. I looked at the Bob Drake site and it says that their u-joint has sealed bearings. Would that mean that I would not have to pack the u-joint housing with grease?

No, the splines and large pivot ball also need to be greased.
