shift lever
I am trying to put the shifter lever back in the trany box of my 239 flathead and I can't get the lever to lock in with out being able to twist.
dose anyone have a diagram of how it fits thanks |

You may be missing the little 1/4" dia. pin that fits into the top of shift housing and into slot in rounded pivot part of shift lever.
Note: sometimes these pins fall down inside the gear box when the lever is removed. They can be tough to fish out and if left in the box they can distroy some gears.

AND, if it gets in the input gear and the cluster, it can break the case, don't ask how I know this ......... OLD......BILL
