Default Question for FordGarage - Magnesium Side Cover

My question is how common or uncommon are these Magnesium Side Timing Covers. If not for your web site I would not have been able to identify the Magnesium cover that I have. Now I look at every one that I see and have never found another example.

Darryl, while I am not Vince, let me say that they are out there and surface from time to time (--probably when you aren't necessarily hunting for them). I probably have 3 or 4, and on a couple of them I have even polished and they have turned back dull again. Kinda just a novelty item or good conversation starter.

I was wondering about polishing, if it would turn dull again.

This company claims a mirror finish on Magnesium. Not sure if that would hold up.
