That's my bad. The resistor did remain under the dash through early '47, when it was relocated to the coil mount at the front left side of the engine. I don't have the change date. This applied only to the V8's, as the 6 cylinder coil had an internal resistor. I apologize for the confusion.

All ‘32 through ‘48 cars and trucks used the ‘32 V8 resister mounted on the inside of the firewall except ‘48 and later trucks which were 8ba powered.
It was the same part number ‘32 through ‘48, V8 and 6 cylinder. The four cylinder cars ‘32-‘34 (with B engine) did not use it. They used their own 4 cylinder coil. ‘48 and later trucks and ‘49 use the model B 4 cylinder coil. |
