Default Body Bolts

I came across several that were not tight and somewhat rusty so I'm going to replace them all. Other than cosmetic, is there any reason to use body bolts from suppliers vs. locally available grade 8 fine thread?

IMO, Grade 8, fine thread bolts would be overkill. They only hold wood after all - not steel to steel. I use bolts from the local hardware store and still, i'm sure the wood would give first.

If you mean the bolts that attach the body to the frame, hardware store bolts will be fine. They are all 3/8" or 7/16". Plenty heavy, as Synchro says.

But what about the old wive's tale of the body coming off in a wreck and leaving you in one ditch and the chassis in the other ditch??
Heaven forbid if you have seat belts that are attached to the frame...
