Default My Speedometer stop working

A wile back there was a person that had 32 Speedometer for sale. I should have bought one. My Speedometer did jump around and I though it was a dry cable. I lube it and that did not work then I lube the Speedometer and that did not help. It needs rebuilt. It finally locked up? I guess back to the drawing board. It even broke the cable also. I have not drove this 32 very much. It does run very nice on the road. Next week I am going to have the Brake Drumb turn and the Brake Shoes arch to fit the Drumb and the that should give me a better brake.

Hard to find a place to turn rear brake drums! Most shops with a drum lathe do not have a proper arbor to mount the rear drum.

Check the speedometer turtle on the front of the drive shaft tube and make sure that is good before you condemn your speedometer. It could be the grease in it got dry and hard from sitting and the gear stripped. Just a thought, as that is what happened on my Mercury.

That is a very real problem. I could not find a brake shop between Richmond and Virginia Beach that still had equipment to properly mount old Ford brake drums. I finally found a guy with a huge lathe in his home shop that also knew how to do it. I found him by checking with early Ford nuts in this area.

I have a friend that has a brake machine for drum. Plus a machine to arch the brake shoes to fit each drum. This will give me a nice firm brake.
