My stupid factor is running about 100% here. At one time I posted allot of pics so I thought I post some pics of the Hydro engines and Baby Ruth. Everything went well until I hit upload. After that nothing happened, soooo, I might need allittle help,

Gramps:

Check your file size. Smaller picts are easier to load. If too big, they won't load.

I've been using a MAC and found that downloading them directly to the computer from the phone is also easier for my set-up as well.

Size of photos or extension, seem to be the issue when I have a problem. I usually use 1296 X 972 pixels at 300 DPI on my Nikon Coolpix S8100. Keeping it down to around a half of a meg.

I use the phone some times but it is more work to transfer the files to the computer.

I just checked it 56K When I select choose file the oic shows up in the :Choose filr " location. However when I select choose filr in the upper aerea I get a notice choosr=e location???? Maybe the new computer has a stuoid factor as well??

Never have an issue on the HAMB upload and click no resizing . On here its a hassle.

Here is how I post pictures:
1) upload from phone to facebook
2) download to PC by right clicking on facebook picture
3) attach picture by using lower part of reply to thread, manage attachments

Thanks JSeerly. The issue here is the fact that I have duzens of pics that I think the guys would like to see, and before I can't do this anymore, I'd like to share.
So I'll wait for a grand kid to show me the errors of my way.

I have Windows 10. if you have the same I could maybe guide you through.

I can't do all the modern phone malarky. I do use my phone but everything goes to the web via the desktop computer.

Whenever I had tried to post recently it stated that a security token was missing.
Whatever that is,,,I just gave up,,,,had a lot of nice pics of my Flathead I had purchased.
Block turned out great,,,gonna continue with the work on it this Spring.
I have a ton of pics on the Hamb if anyone is interested.
The title of the thread is Flathead advice needed.
I use the same handle on there as well.

I'm having the same issue posting pics recently. Nothing has changed at my end. Still using same iPad to take and store pics, so file size shouldn't be an issue, as I have posted plenty before using my iPad. Me thinks, there has been some upgrade to the site affecting a few of us.

Almost every problem I have seen is a file size issue. Someone will say the size is fine, but when they send it to me it is a several Mb file. So first thing is to double check the file size, a .jpg needs to be around 500Kb. I know sometimes a larger file will post, but not consistently (sometimes much larger files, but it is the exception and not the rule).

For anybody that hangs around here (F'Barn) much, it's obvious that JSeery and myself regularly post a lot of pictures. Now J seems to be a fairly sharp kind'a guy, but myself....I'm dumber than snot when it comes to computer smarts. What I'm trying to get across here is that if I was able to sit down and figure this stuff out, then likely most of y'all ought to have the ability to do the same. Posting pictures here is a piece of cake!! DD

Like I offered, if you send me the file I can take a look and see what the issue is. I haven't seen a file I couldn't post yet (there may be a first! ), but difficult to suggest a solution when there is no information on format and size. I don't "I" anything, so can't help with that, but a file is a file.

OK, that is/was a 2.72Mb file. That is over 5x the maximum file size you can post on the Barn. It is now a 150Kb file.

There are several ways to go about that, but I'm not an Apple guy. Think it is fairly simple on the "I" stuff, hopefully someone will chime in that is up on that. I use Windows10 on my desktop, but like to use Microsoft Office 2013, which allows me to run the old Photo Manager. If the function is not built into your phone or iPad, you just need to find a photo management app that includes changing file size. To check a file size, just right click on an image and you get a pop-up menu. At the very bottom is Properties. Left click Properties and it will give you the file information including the file size.

You can send any files to me you want to post while your figuring out the photo management stuff.

I don't think Tommy's problem is the regular size problem others have experienced. I seem to remember having it a couple of years ago and I had to reload some software or something like that. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what it was; perhaps someone else does.

That could be, but a file that size is not going to upload.

I don't have posting issues, as I have Vista with MS Office Picture Manager. I can size any picture to post in 3 clicks with it.

I came in to this thread, at just the right time. As I have been trying to post pictures, in a thread Like Petehoovie does and they not turn out to be thumbnails.

Pete can you tell us how to post them full size?

You were probably on the right track! You wont see them until you preview or actually make the post. I think you just stopped to early...

I just checked by sending two of my engines pics in an e-mail to myself. I couldn't upload these pics previously. First pic was 472 kB, and second around 400kB. So now for some reason it works. I think maybe it is an issue with my iPad as pic in email showed .png. Permitted file size for jpegs is much larger than it is for.png files. If it is a .png file according to my e-mail, still don't know then how I was able to post here it it was a .png file being it is around 400 kB which is much larger than the 19.5 kB size permitted for .png. The thumbnail says it is a Joey, so that explains why I was able to post. So, somehow, my iPad is converting them to .png somewhere along the line.
Still need to know how to post bigger pics and more than one per email.

Left click on your thumbnail...it becomes the large size (UNDERSTAND that the thumbnail you are working with MUST be posted ANYWHERE on the internet to create a URL). Now, right click on the enlarged picture. Left click on PROPERTIES at the bottom of the drop-down. HIGHLIGHT the complete URL (https//…………). RIGHT click on the HIGHLITED URL. Left click on copy. Now, left click on the yellow square with the mountains (). A window will appear. With your cursor on the blank line, right click, left click on PASTE. Left click on OK in that URL window and your enlarged photo will now appear. It sounds complicated, but once you get used to it, it only takes about four or five seconds to post each pic. DD
