Default Newbie engine color question

My father-in law Bill, restored his 31 Model A back in the 1970's. He is now 93 and dementia doesn't allow him to enjoy his beautiful Model A. It has sat garaged and covered for the last twenty years. I am now working on it to continue the family history for my kids. As their grandpa used to take them out in it for long drives. The paint is really peeling on the engine. I see in a lot of pictures the engines in Ford Green but Bill's engine is a light Aqua color.

Is this color correct for a 31 Deluxe Coupe?

Sorry for the long story leading up to my question.

Thanks for any help.

Jim

No, the engine and tranny should be Ford engine green. Of course there seem to be a lot of shades of this color to choose from, so start and finish with the same supplier.

Welcome, welcome. It's great to hear it's staying in the Family.

The paint is available in both rattle can form or brush on. Neither type lends itself well when the motor is still in the vehicle. Have fun!

I prefer brush on an engine outside of the car and definitely on one that is in the car. With the rough surface of the cast iron the brush strokes don't show up.

Most Model A vendors carry this paint.
