Tudor Top Wood Question
I purchased the hardware necessary to replace the top wood in my 1930 Tudor per the list on page 3-61 of Les Andrew's Vol II book. For the bow support rails the list shows the following:
10-32 x 1 1/2 Machine Screw #10 Lock Washer 10-32 Nut On page 3-79, the instructions mention using a 1/4 flat washer instead of the #10 Lock Washer. Can someone tell me the correct washer to use? I realize this area eventually will not be visible, but would prefer to use the proper hardware and only do this once if one works better than another. When I disassemble something, I usually document this type of thing with photos or notes, but for some reason didn't when I removed the bows and supports. Maybe I put too much faith in having a book with instructions? Anyway, another lesson learned. |

Re: Tudor Top Wood Question
I use just the lock washer tighten it down good so it digs into the wood then whizzer off the top of the screw threads fulsh with the wood. I am not sure a 1/4 " lock washer would fit into the recess anyway or even give enough room to conceal the nut
