Default Fatal cracks in 59ab

So some of you you may have read my posts on the Hamb about the 59 ab in my 39 deluxe having hydraulis lifters (probably from a lincoln)in it. Of course, they didn't work and the result is severly burned exhaust valve seats in cyls 2 and 3. They got so hot that the block cracked from the exhaust port into the cylinder on both cylinders. Just to make things more interesting i found a crack in the panrail about 2 inches long. Does not appear to extend down the sides. Tried to post pics but they wouldn't load.. I'm thinking i don't want to invest money into a block with these issues. Any thoughts from the experts? Thanks,Bob

From your description, I would not use this block.

Try the photos 2 or 3 at a time, upload, then add more. I've seen an error when I tried to hit the upload button after selecting several pics.

No pics needed. If cracked as you describe, find another block.

Remember also that no block is broken bad enough that it can't be fixed like new by welding if you put enough money in it.

It is also possible to construct a new block COMPLETELY from welding rod if you have enough time and money.
